MONETARY DONATIONS
Volunteering in Africa for 6 months is financially demanding to say the least, which is why any amount of donations would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to fundraise $5000 by the end of the year. A little can go a long way. Here is a basic outline of what the fees would cover:
- Airline tickets
- Travel Insurance
- Airport pick-up
- Meals and accommodations during 6 month placement
- School supplies for children
- Program development within the community and local schools
With your help, Maasai children would benefit directly; allowing me to create long-lasting educational and emotional support in areas of English, Science, Math, and Social Studies. You would have the rare opportunity to see where your donations are being used. Not only are you contributing to the improvement of education in Kenya, you would be providing me with the chance to advance my career as an educator.
If you would like to make a monetary donation there are two ways to do so:
- Donate through PayPal by clicking the ‘Donate’ button found on the right-hand side of the page.
- Make a personal check out to me and mail it to my address in California.

RESOURCE DONATIONS
You also have the opportunity to donate goods. Kenyan classrooms are often times lacking in funds and resources. Supplying items is an excellent starting point to begin work and it is another way of making a contribution to the school and community. These items may be new or old. If you decide that you would like to donate goods, there are two options:
- Mailing the goods to my address in California.
- Mailing the goods to GVN’s partner organization VICDA, where they will pass the package along to me. Please keep in mind that packages may take 6 weeks or more to get to Kenya.
If you are interested in making resource donations, please email me at traciyoshiyama@gmail.com and I will send you the addresses and further information.
Here are some suggestions for items to donate:

LAST WORDS
Whether you came here to donate, learn more about my cause, or pure curiosity got the best of you never underestimate the power of the word of mouth. More important than money or material possessions are the experiences and knowledge we share with others. By spreading the word you are contributing in the best way possible.
